What are everyone's thoughts on switching over to 'new blogger'? If we do that, we will be able to have our own private blog, where nobody can read it but us. Right now we have it so no-one can comment but us, we can make it so nobody can even read it. What do you all think? I can set it up, and let everyone know when I do it.

Would we still be able to access
what is on this blog, like the comments re. Christmas? Looks like
everyone isn't commenting on Christmas as of yet. dk
Diane, if our blog is not too big, we would be able to switch it all over, and we wouldn't lose anything. The Forstie blog was too big so I just made a new blog, but did not erase the old blog. So we can still access both. Blogger claims that soon we will be able to transfer it all over doesn't matter the size.

doesn't matter to me either way. what do you see as the pros/cons, jenny? -e.
just let us know the new username and password, -debbie
as far as pro's go, we could put any comments on with out worring about others seeing it, like our e-mail address for one. if there is anyone that is nervous about having there pictures on here or saying anything because of who might see it, like there was when this was first started, the new blogger would solve that issue. The con's to me are few. If there are family's that are related to our family that read this to keep up to date on our family they would not have access to it. keeping it so any one can read it might keep some in check if there is any issue that gets heated for fear of others reading. Some times people type out more than the would ever dare say face to face. The only problem I see with the new private blogger is if some one gives the password out to some one from the dark side and we think it is stil "family only" it might , could be a bad thing.

i could only presume that this "new blogger" is but the same as this one ...? there are alot of bloggers and not everyone is .."computer savy"?
on another note ..it would be nice to have our own private thoughts and if i recall right there was only one guy(unbeknowst to us) that attempted to blog and if a new blogger brings out the "blogger" in us all ..all in favor say "AYE!"
AYE!

It is not that other people make comments on here because they can not do that anymore. There are poeple out there who do read this even if they can not make comments. The new blogger is not even close to the same as this one on the inside but only exremly computer savy folks would know the differance about that. From what you see after you enter your name and password it would all "look" the same but with more options like the option to make it private. On the old blooger you do not have the option. The names new and old are not mine that is what blogger calls the two ways. There will caome a time when we have to switch anyway to the new because they will be getting rid of the old blogger. We do not have to make the new one private if we do not want to but it is an option like I said before. I hope that cleared up this a little bit and not cofuse it more. Goodnight

It doesn't matter to me really. the only down side I see is that I know others read it to see what we have all been up to and they won't be able to do that anymore. However, then they could call us or e-mail us or something to see what we have been up to. I'm not worried about people reading what I write. So it really doesn't matter at all to me. If someone is uncomfortable with others being able to read what we write, then I'd say change it.

I am game for anything you want to try, but you will have to walk me through the process. I am all for trying anything new.

I am in favor of switching to the new. I haven't even completely figured the old out yet, so I will need some help.
While I knew this one isn't "private," I didn't realize others log in to see what we are up to. I guess I'll admit that makes me a little uncomfortable. I knew some total stranger might google something that would lead to our blog, but that feels much different than other people we know following it. ...It is a little bit like passangers in the van. Before getting in, I always check to see if I am giving anyone extra a ride. I tell the kids that i don't mind giving someone a ride that needs one, but I would rather know it ahead of time. Similarly, I would love to have a conversation with most anyone, but feel a bit funny about not realizing that others are "listening in." -b
umm It has to change to the new blogger eventually, may as well "git-r-done". The more posts on this one, the more pictures, the more... stuff... is just going to make it harder to transfer it all. It HAS to transfer eventually (right?) Do it now! :-)
Private/Non? I'm guessin that could be changed later on?
Swap 'er over... leave it the same.
(grin) I've got a feeling this is the most democratic family on the blog
