Surgery was a success. Tanner has a new souvenier, they gave him the plates and pins that were removed. His only danger is developing an infection in the holes in his bones but it is slim that this would happen. He is very sleepy and is on the final road to recovery!
I also agree with all of you that life is way to short....Don't sweat the small stuff. There is nothing going on in my life that I should ever be complaining about. Great family, good job, roof over my head, rowdy healthy kids (smiles) and food on my table, not to mention an extended family that I adore!!!!! All I need to do is look at the world through the eyes of those less fortunate and know how lucky I really am to have all of you and the life that I have been given!

We are all glad that you are a part of this family. When Tanner
feels perky again, have him check
his e-mail. Love, Mom
how big are those plates and pins - i'm pictures railroad spikes - but i trust they're smaller? - e.
The plates were actually amazingly large...almost as large as the skateboard that did the damage. (smiles)
ok. now how long were they really. I will be able to find out in two months I now but I am slightly impatiant. about how big were they Frans
They were about 4 inches long (from a females guess)and look like something that you could buy from the hardware store although am sure we were charged much higher prices than a hardwares store price. The 12 screws also look like something from the hardware bin. He actually had 3 plates, thought only 2 but they had 2 of them stacked on top of each other for additional strength. No wonder his arm was getting cold in the winter.
Are you having surgery on your knee????? What and when do you get the metal inserts???
I had my surgery about three years ago what I meant was we are going to be in minnesota in two months and I think you had said that tanner got to keep his plate and pins and I figgured that I could see them then. Frans
Frans:
Ok Now I understand...takes me awhile. dah!
Can't wait for you guys to come this way over the summer!
Oh by the way...my sister and I are almost to the end of puttig everything together for that DVD so will be sending your way soon.
Jody
Jody, do you make copies of DVDs?
Mom
Actually what we are doing is sending Frans pictures of my niece on an CD and then we are editing some old VHS tapes and putting them on one tape and Frans is going to make a DVD to music for her graduation. It is a gift from her mom (my sister) and I. We plan on playing this DVD at her graduation reception in June. It is so much harder to put together than I ever imagined. Narrowing down our picture choices was tough and then getting them transferred on to a CD was a nother chore not to mention expense...It was fun taking a trip down memory lane, came across a lot of footage when Tanner was a youngster...
Thinking that we will do the same for Tanner when he graduates. I am excited to see the final cut when Frans is done and we need to get this out to him so he has a lot of time to work on in between his other projects.

I am way behind, not having jumped on here for a couple weeks. Glad Tanner's surgery is over and hopefully recovery as well. ...it is amazing how we hold people together with hardware store parts isn't it? I still have the plate and screws that held my collar bone together when I was in junior high. The product hasn't chnaged; only the price. -b
b:
does that hardware go on your "grandma's yellow pie plate" some day as do my plates still wrapped in styrofoam for over 15 years now?
-anita
We might have a side business going on here with all of the old plates and pins we have in tow...Ebay anyone...hahahha
