Sled Dog Adventure

http://www.globalwarming101.com/content/view/32/166/

The above link is the expedition my sleddogs are going on with
Will Steger and John Stetson. They came and picked them up
last night and will be gone for four months to Baffin Island to
combat global warming by help the native people of Baffin Island
to have a voice. Thought you might like to take a peak and track
my dogs while on their expedition. : ) Wish we could go with, but
I don't think I'm tough enough yet! : )

Sure miss my little fur friends! : ( LK.

i'm jealous. probably i'll have to tie my face up right close to the back end of my cats and tromp around in the freezing cold having them poop in my face while dragging some bossy folks around behind me and trying not to be eaten by hungry bears to remind me that this is a work trip for the dogs and not just a fun vacation. i'm jealous anyway. i bet they'll come back with lots of stories to tell. -e.

How did Will Stegar hear about your
dogs? Does he know the previous
owner? If so, has he used this dog
team before? Took a picture of
Denise with a white dog, closer to
the gate; what is that dog's name?
Questions and more questions! dk

Yes, they were Will Steger's bloodlines that were bred specifically for the Big Arctic expedition. So, when trying to round up dogs, they went to everyone they've ever bred dogs for or sold them to. Never has used this team. They are in Ely right now training at Will Steger's place. I'm going to have lunch with them on Saturday to meet everyone. I'll keep you posted on their progress and there supposedly will be pictures and stuff. The white dog closest to the gate was Nyla, my little sweetheart. I hope they all do well and come back safe. I was holding the empty chains last night a little teary-eyed. I'd say I'm kinda attached to them. But it will be good for them being as I don't have a whole lot of time and Tristan is so little. They deserve better especially since there is no snow. It's really sad to see the empty chains hanging there. Gary's happy cuz they don't howl while he's trying to sleep. Shelby and Max are happy cuz more attention for them! : ) I'll post their pictures in a separate blog so if anyone follows it online they can see who's who among the dogs. : ) LK

Laurie, of course you will miss them and your yard will be too quite without them there, but try fill your thoughts with the great work that they are doing! While we often make jokes about global warming, there are polar bears starving to death because of changes in climate. The people who live in the area the dogs are exploring have stories to tell that we need to hear. Your dogs are going to bring their voice to the rest of the world. Will Steger will take good care of them! He has a great respect for them, knowing his life depends on them. Hopefully when you watch their progress you will have feelings of pride and happiness for your dogs that overwhelm your feelings of lonliness. I am glad you have pictures of each of them. Thanks for posting them. -b
