Frans reporting

Reporting in very tired and it is late. I just got home a little while ago from the hospital with Jenny. She did hve her appendix removed and she is still there. Every thing is going good except here blood pressure is to low. When I left there tonight a nurse came in with a new machine to check her out because they figured the one they have been using might not be accurate, It should a lower level than the one they had been using. Its not real low but low enough where the have to keep an eye on it. some thing like 80/45 with 44 beats per minute. For her that is low. Her temp is only at 99.5 so that is good, not to high for being right after surgery. She is starting to get a little more sweeling in her stomach area but the nurse said that is normal with laparscopic (speeling?) surgery. If her blood pressure goes up tonight were it should be and in the morning when they take blood her white blood cell count is not high than she should be able to come home on sunday some time. I have my fingers crossed cause every one that checks her blood pressure, just rubs there chin, and can not give reasons for it, than they go make some calls order EKG's and blood tests, come back, check again, rub their chins again, and say it should come down, nothing is wrong. Then we start the whole process over when there is a nursing change. I don't know? so I am going to go to sleep and see what is going on in the morning. good night, Frans

perhaps if they were rubbing her chin instead of their own, her blood pressure might return to normal...? hope things are better after a good night's rest. keep us posted. -liz

I just got home from the hospital about an hour ago, and feel okay. Tired, a little weak, and maybe should take a little ibuprofen as I am still feeling a little sore where my incisions were. They did four incisions, and one internal. (three on my stomach, and one in my bellybutton) My heart rate was still around 44 this morning which is low, but the surgeon came in this morning, and decided that it must always be like that and he didn't seem to concerned. so he said it would probably be fine for me to go home. I have to make an appointment to see him in a week. Anita, it is the same Dr. Zacker that works in trauma at osborn. He said he works there as a side job to pay the bills! And I obviously just wasn't paying attention yesterday, he was cute:)
Anyways, I am doing fine, thank you anita for taking the kids and sending me to the hospital and for coming to visit! And thanks for everyone's concern!

So ... Jari & I survived the "reality check" just fine.

Friday night we had no kiddos in our bed ... Anna did a middle of the night thing with Alanys who was busy giggling at Duke.

Last night Alanys got to sleep with us. Those lovely munchkins came to my house with 2 tutti's ... last night the one remaining tutti must have ended up under my bed. I was too tired & sore (that gallbladder thing!) to go find it. Jari gave her a back rub intermittently all night long & she slept without any tutti! No crying either! Yeah!!!

It is a pleasure to have them here. Can't help but smile at the cute little things they do and say.

Jenny ... welcome home!

It was a blast taking care of your kiddos.. I hope they will come over again..

Friday: i was sleeping on the couch when I heard The Girls.. so I awoke (still tired) and told them to be quiet.. THat night they went to sleep just fine (really tired)..'

Saturday: it was interesting.. I let the girls play for awhile While I put Toni And Alanys To Sleep ( nap time!) Then I played with the other girls.. The girls sleeped for 4 hours.. Then After awhile We had to pick upLindsey got mad at me cause she had to clean.. I said it was not my fault because She had to help either way.. Then she got over it.. Then jenny called.. Smiles on all the girls faces as they talked to there mother.. Then they went to bed..

Sunday: Woke the girls up and told them that they had to get ready.. They did as i said.. I walked away and came back.. when i came back I saw alanys coming out of my mother and father room wide awake!

Also guess what! IT IS SOSOSOSOSO NICE WHEN WHEN LITTLE ONES CAN TALK WITHOUT THERE DUTTIES!

I love them all and I hope they come back soon!

Welcome back jenny!

Jenny,
Glad you're home. Hope your recovery goes well. It's not much fun, but the greatest part is we only have one apendix, so don't have to ever worry about having that surgery again. And now, if you have a stomach ache or pains in the abdomninal area, no fear, it's not the appendix =)
Take Care.

How long ago did you have yours removed Heather, and did you have it done laproscopically? (spelling?) How long until you felt good and were up and moving around? I am still so sore and tired! But I expected it because the doc told me at least four days of being sore, then about 5-6 weeks until I can fully resume normal activity....excersizing, etc.

I had my appendix taken out in 2002 or 2003, I can't remember for sure. I know that it was the first weekend of deer hunting and I was very upset. I had surgery Saturday night and was convinced I'd be out on Sunday and back to work on Monday. The surgeon told me that I couldn't go back to work until 2 days after I thought I could. I was very sore, very tired. Shawn brought me to Mom and Isa's for adult day care while he was working. I took off a week. I probably could have gone back to work that Friday - but went deer hunting instead. I feel your pain. It was miserable and it does take a while to recover. I'd say in a week, you should be feeling pretty good.
Hang in there,
Heather

Oh yeah, I did have it done laproscopically (I can't spell that word, but you know what I mean). I've heard if it was done the other way, the recovery time is much longer.

Jenny:
Just getting around to reading the blog, oh my gosh, what a scare. It was nice that Jari and Anita could take the kids. Hope you are feeling better and are on a quick road to recovery. Listen to your doctor and don't overdo it! I don't even remember what it was like having my appendix out, I was only 4 years old and that was many, many, many years ago and I know they didn't do it lapiscopically (sp)back then, I remember having a huge bandage across my stomach but that's about it. Hope you feel weel enough to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.
Take Care All! Happy Holidays!
Hugs to all!
