Jenny
Thank you for the anniversary
wishes. Doesn't seem it is almost
two years ago that we were at Days
Inn. Then heard for the 1st time
the new part to Holly Hocks in bloom and the grandkids acting it
out. Nice memories. Thanks, all.
i'm still chuckling about those games at the Days Inn where listed in 30 seconds as many words as we could each remember associated with butchering chickens, making hay, dogs, cars, trips, etc. - where was the official chicken gut pile anyway? -e.
Happiest of Birthdays and Anniveraries!
I don't know where the offical gut pile was, but I'll never forget the hot water dunking tank ... the one chicken that was let loose to run ... or the fact that I was so priviledged to babysit inside while cutting already gutted, plucked (pin feathers included), cleaned chickens!
Official chicken gut pile... if you drive out in the woods, follow the "road", it will take you down through the first "hollow", up the other side... around the long sweeping left handed curve... through the fence (you have now entered the "thick woods") There's a soft spot there.... so drive quick.. its pretty much a straight shot... there will be a trail that goes off to your right, but keep going straight. The road will come to a 90 degree right hand turn... stop right there... look down to your left... and there my fellow kuoppala's... is the official chicken gut pile. If you continue around the right hand corner... you will be headed straight for the creek... up the grassy knoll, and when you start coming down the far side of the knoll... just to the left side of the trail... is where our dented head frans, had a mishap with a steering wheel... I'm sure things look a little different now... but if you travel back in time a couple of years... thats exactly how it would have looked :-)

Awesome memories and a good
routing to the chicken gut pile.
Before I read that, I was going to
say it's not in the "mustikkamaa".
Besides, I think because it was our
40th, we had 40 seconds to come up
with the answers. Like I said
earlier, Thanks to you all.
heh I was going to say something about when you get to the fence line, IF you took a left... lil ways down, there may still be the remnants of a deer stand to your right... and way down at the end, you'll run into the "mustikkamaa", but after trying to spell mustikkamaa no less than three times, I gave up, and simply omitted that part of the first woods/thick woods history lesson...
Great memories! E - another chapter for your writing class.
Happy Wishes to all from us too. I just can't seem to get my thoughts into actions and communicated on time. -b
Happy belated Jennifer!
Can you make it down on the 20th for the BBQ? Would be fun to have you!
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad, May 9th! It is a day I will always remember and I am glad that I have a happy occasion to celebrate on this day to take away some of the sadness that I have always associated with this day. It was such an amazing coincidence (sp?) that May 9th was such a monumental day to both our families!
P.S. Mitchell so loved having you both at Grandparents day on Friday. He was telling me all about the necklace that he made for you, it was very special to him to have you both there. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for driving down and putting such a huge smile on his face!
Love ya!
Jody
Some comments to the comments:
The mishap was with a tree which also made the dent in the steering
wheel after glancing off his head,
which caused a huge headache. At
ER, the doctor was going to give him a sheet of things he should look for in the next 24-48 hrs. and he told the doctor he already had lots of those sheets at home.
Jody, I'm sorry, what else happened on May 9th?
