Goal Setting

It's Monday!!!
Time to set a new goal: I will bike 40 miles this week (I'm pushing more like 50, but Shawn was not impressed with the number, so will say 40)

I met the goal last week and did 40 miles.

Sorry I didn't bike with you yesterday, I forgot my crankarm on my pedal is still broken....I should have called to tell you I wasn't going! : ) Where did you bike? Good job! lk&t

my goal: jog 14 miles. i got my 10 in this past week. H: how about if you don't do your 40 miles, you owe me $14; if i don't do my 14 miles, i owe you $40? you in? -e.

K. I like this. I'll walk a mile, if I don't I only owe $1, but I could possibly get 54????? per week? That's potentially 216.00/month if you never meet your goals.....only kidding....I know you both will do it! I just liked crunching the numbers. We could start a profitable website with those numbers if we got so many members per month and their credit card numbers....haha!

I'd be happy to have more people join in with their numbers and if they don't do it, they pay up, more motivation for me to make sure I exercise. The rule of thumb, $1 per mile.

Fun to see the goals and progress. My goal won't be for this week, but it is to join in the week we get back.

Had a mental goal joining session. I don't bike, I don't jog, I am in the process of gaining weight. Don't know what is going on over here. Probably left my metabolism somewhere in Nebraska. My goal this week is to do the walking video 4 days. Should I run out of days in the week (note: now I am down to less than 4 days in a week) then I am allowed to do it 4 times in one day. Will let you know progress!

K. I have a forked goal now...one is the walk a mile a day at least with T, then the other fork is to consume 1200 calories/day or less until I start to shed some pounds, then slowly increase until it is a good maintenance intake. Yesterday I blew it completely. I am amazed at how many calories I actually consume in a given day...2500-3000 which is WAY over what I burn. So far today, doing great. How do I pay up for the calorie thing...or should I just base it on the 1 mi? Any suggestions would be helpful! LK & T. : )

LK: you misunderstood the payment system; if you don't walk, you pay $54, you don't collect it. if you're walking 7 miles/week and one of us don't do our goals, we owe you $7. if you don't meet your goals you owe me $14 and Heather $40. Tho, of course, you can make a different proposal.

As for calorie counting, how about you put $10/day each time you go over your daily calorie goal - save the money up for new clothes or whatever you'd like after you meet your goal. or if you want to pay somebody, i'm happy to accept! -e.

30 bucks put aways so far! Wow. 1200 is really tough to stay under! I've been improving everyday though. Finding better options and choices. lk&t

Glad I didn't join the money thing yet. I'd have to stay home next weekend. :( So, let's say I didn't walk anything this past week. I would owe the bank to you girls! I like the idea tho'. Now .. do you suppose we could figure out a bank book system and just pay when the tax refund comes in??
Where does doing yardwork in 100 degree fit in to my exercise plan. I know my heart rate was up there just as high as when I'm doing the walk video.
Excuses, excuses, excuses!

I met the goal of 40, but somewhat disappointed that I didn't do more than that. Did do, yardwork, piling of wood, etc. So every little bit should help right?
