Sorry, no time to post a Happy
Birthday to Jenny or to wish anyone
a Happy Thanksgiving. We joined
Jen at the Homeless Shelter in
Virginia. Lots of food. Only regret that they didn't fell like
joining us. One resident did.
Went to Lauri's funeral. Read about it in the Newsletter that will be coming out soon!! dk

Happy belated birthday Jenny!

We celebrated Thanksgiving with just our family this year. We missed Eric Rosie and family. Also saw our first Thanksgiving with kids working. Both Michelle and Debbie worked, but both were able to get home in time to join for dinner. We were able to go to Mpls for an annual Thanksgiving program at the church in the evening. It was good to be there.

Some took part in black Friday... Debbie and friends were here looking through ads around midnight, got a few winks of sleep and hit the shops by 5 am. Brian joined some of his friends for through the night shopping before heading back to Rochester to work. Oh, the energy of youth.... :)

Friday, with Sandra on my ride, I went to Babbit for Laurie's funeral. We met Liz, Heather and Heidi at Village Inn for breakfast, then continued north on Liz's ride. Made for an early morning, but I am glad I went. We hardly ever see that part of the family.

Six weeks til the wedding!

School work, housework, and paperwork are all calling... Enjoy the day everyone!

i'll share my experience of my first holiday working..this is the first of many to come, which made it a little hard getting up and leaving home. i work at an assisted living where many are alone, loved ones have past away and are left with no family. one, his name is harold was sitting quietly when i went to his table to serve him his big dinner, when i wished him a happy thanksgiving and let him know i was happy to see him, he got tears in his eyes, i sat down and asked him if he was ok. through teary eyes, he told me..i have so much to be thankful for, i was blessed with 54 happily married years, i never had any children but i have you that work here as my children who take care of me so well today. my wife is gone now; this is her 2nd year.
i decided after talking with him that i have a lot to be thankful for; especially getting to work thanksgiving day, and brightening the day for those who are left alone. -debbie
