Taryn's baptism...

We had Taryn's baptism yesterday... She was awake and smiling the whole time, it was so cute! Baptisms are such a special time, but why are they so stressful planning for??! Is this the case for anyone else that has planned one? But the day turned out wonderful, with good visiting and good food too:) As soon as the baptism ended, Taryn zonked out for hours!
All was perfect with the day until Trina kept me up all night! She didn't get a nap yesterday, and when she goes without a nap, she doesn't have a good nights sleep that night....wierd! so I am tired today!
Hope everyone has a great week!
Jenny

I guess I wasn't stressed really with planning Heidi's baptism, but didn't have an extragent afair. I was probably a bit too relaxed, but it worked out :)

Have you used the same gown for all the girls?

Ditto on Jen's comment. Will have
to transfer some photos to our
family or grandchildren's file.
Thank you. dk

Yes, I agree: beautiful pictures, beautiful girls, beautiful family!

Lindsey, your glasses are really cute on you :).

Jenny, I can relate to your feelings. As I mentioned to Frans, when baby is first born, everyone knows mom needs extra rest. By baptism time, the novelty of "new mom" has worn off and you are sort of expected to be back in the swing of things. However, by this time, sleepless nights start to have their effect. Because the baptism is such an important/special day, it is easy to put lots of work into the preparation. To give it that extra attention at the point where your body is feeling a bit drained can be challenging. Still, as you noted, even with the exhaustion/stress, the day ends up being beautiful.

Thanks for sharing pictures from the day. Just think... I think this was the stage we were at when you got married, right? Oh, how time goes. Now we are watching our kids grow up and leave the house. It is fun to watch them grow; wonderful to get to know them as adults and be introduced to so many other wonderful people through them; but not so great to have them leave home. Will I ever adjust to that?

Got a little weepy, reading Becky's
post. Wish the days were back to
when the kids were home or a little later when they'd come over
more often. But their lives continue and we must learn to live
with that stage in our life. dk
