I don't know if you can only report if you are biking or walking...? But I have made a goal to excercise at least 5 days a week, and I have been doing good thus far! So far this week, I have gone to curves twice, (hoping to go today) done water arobics once for 20 minutes, and yesterday went on the eliptical and did 1000 strides (20 minutes). I used Denise Wuollet's machine and that thing is awesome! If they weren't so expensive, I might seriously think about buying one! Good luck to you all! After being serious about excercising for a few weeks now, it feels good! Jenny
Jenny, You can report on any sort of exercise. The idea is to set a goal and then have to report on it. That way, when you're like me and think about sitting home and eating twinkies and people ask if I have biked, the guilt sets in, the bike comes out and the twinkies stay in the cupboard. That's great that you have been meeting your goal. Keep it up! Mom, I'm not sure what you are worried about. Some of the biking is down the road, some is on trails. Liz and I biked partly on road and partly on trail the other night. If I bike on the road, I try to stay on busier roads when I'm by myself. When going by myself, I leave a note for Shawn as to where I'm going and when I plan to be back. Becky, the colors are starting to change and the biking looks very different from just a few weeks ago. Some parts of the trail were beautiful the other day. The sad part is that it has been so dry up here that the colors won't be as beautiful as they normally would be. Maybe as fall moves on, there will be more wildlife. I got to see a fox the other night. Heather
Hmm i don't know if a male should even bother voting on this one but hey! what the heck! hopefully i don't get eaten alive!
Went running the other night in an attempt to otherwise strengthen my ankle(torn ligaments or something) and my goal was a 10 mile sprint and i accomplished it. next up ..! 15 ..wish me luck heh! (thinking: "git'r'done!")
Among other goals which i did not choose but am otherwise attempting to thuroughly enjoy ..the 25 mile bike ride from cokato to buffalo to get to work. tried it once and my tire went flat 20 miles in ..when i finish it i will most certainly comment again but until then ..y'all know what i'm upta :)
Well, I cheated this weekend. I didn't really do anything Friday or Saturday. (I peeled and cut 36 cups of apples) I wasn't feeling well and took it easy in an attempt to be fine for work all week. I tried to get Shawn to bring my exercise bike to our house from his garage at his mom's on Saturday. He forgot. So, got it on Sunday. I biked 15 miles on it and therefore, completed my goal of 250 miles by the 19th. I'm 8 over. The weather was windy, gloomy, and rainy, so will bike inside when that happens, but continue to count my miles. The 15 miles took me an hour on the bike at home. How is everyone else's goals going? My new goal is to have my mileage up to 325 by the end of the month. Hi Blayde, it's nice to hear from you. I don't know how you can run 10 miles, but that's great!! What's wrong with trying 12.5 or do you just up it by 5 miles each time? Heather
Actually i should take it slowly but i had a marine corps sergeant REteach me how to run, how to control my speed and change speed without otherwise exerting myself to much so i can no longer run.
I should just do 12.5 but at the end of the day i don't do "exactly 10!" its more like 11 or 12 by the end of the run or even 8 or 9 so bumping it up to 15 really isn't that much of an issue but the fact that i'm in pretty decent shape helps me.
For me the hardest thing was kicking asthma out of my system and accomplishing feats i couldn't while i had it. It was also hard not using it as an excuse(only once!) and after that i felt like a woose so i quit using it.
I do like your idea heather of accomplishing miles and i plan on incorporating it into my running and start biking like that too ..i like your idea!
now before i bore any more of you bloggers ..! --Blayde
