A glimpse of Seattle trip

We had a great time in Seattle and Longview. After flying in, we met Eric, Rosie and kids downtown Seattle and piled into their car for a night tour of the city. Amazing how quickly Eric has learned the city! Friday the guys went shooting while Rosie, the kids and I hung out. Visited at Tricia and Blaine's that night. Saturday we went to Longview for Kayla and Mitch's wedding - very special to be there. We spent the evening and night visiting at Phil and Sarah's. Slept a bit before time to head to church. After church we headed back to Seattle. Hiked in the Paradise Valley Nature Conservation Area before church that evening. Monday the guys went shooting again for a bit, then we headed home. Super fun to be there, but always good to come home.

The moss bus stop hut is one of many pictures I got of the "greenery" there :). While on our way to west Seattle, we got out of the rain and saw a beautiful rainbow over the city. Had to shoot it quick out the car window through a bridge tressel, going 70 mph, but I think it worked.

Michael sure is getting big! Sounds like a fun but busy weekend trip! How was it getting back into the swing of the things, especially school since spring break is over?

That was the first thing i noticed too..he has grown so much in just 2 months, i can't imagine what he'll look like in another couple months! its good to have mom and dad back (or mom anyway, dad didn't really come home) it was fun to have a "girls" slumber party on the floor in my room for 3 nights lots of beautiful weather to play outside and built in activity from Rockford's Mary's Day services, but that was more then enough and i quickly realized how overwhelming it is to be mom for a few days. even if they do all know how to get dressed and bathroom on their own, i figured it'd be pretty laid back and easy...no major disaster and the house was in one piece when they flew in, now we all breathe a sigh that we can leave the getting things in order before leaving to work..only to come home and get it in order again to get the kids to bed..rewarding, disciplining, and everything else to our parents, i couldn't be more thankful for them being here to do it all!

Thanks Debbie :).

Yes, the transition back has gone ok, mostly because they did so well while we were away.

Now that break is over tho, school is full force. I have always enjoyed learning... but this semester is really a tough one. While the material is fascinating, it is amazingly difficult for me to do well on exams in two of my classes. Regardless of how much I study, it isn't enough. Argh. I have always told the kids that there are two things to get out of a class. One is learning. The other is a grade. I am learning. Just don't know what kind of a grade I will get out of this semester :(

Happy 20 degree spring day to all :)

Looks like your trip went well ... and fast as usual! Thanks for the pictures. Still hard to fathom how fast the little people can grow. What cute munchkins.
