Heather's 4th of July celebrations

Happy 4th of JulyOn the 3rd we went to Eveleth for fireworks...

Gary and Tristan joined us...
On the 4th ~ I brought Tristan to the parade in Eveleth. He and his friend Cody were dancing wildly in the street!!! Laughing and having a good time....
Then Shawn and I headed to Cokato for services. There were A LOT of people...

Here's how you find your family... text them to see where they are....
In all that crowd, I was able to find this little darling... Miss Abigail Rose!
Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

fun to see your pictures from the weekend! wow, you were really close to the fireworks! don't think I have ever gotten that close! looking at pictures from services makes me even more glad that we stayed home and listened via internet...could not imagine battling the crowd with 5 little ones! I wouldn't have gotten a thing out of them!

We don't have a cell phone at the
moment so could not text to find
anyone. It was just pure luck.
When you saw someone you knew, talk
to them right away as you may not
have another chance! dk

That Cody, with Tristan, isn't Jim and Darcy's is he?

Heather can't respond until Monday
but yes, I believe he is Jim and
Darceys. Laurie said the bad thing
is that he doesn't obey at all!
Easy for another child to pick up
on that. The bad things always
stick so easily! dk

Prior to services, I was contemplating methods for keeping track of our kids. I thought it would be handy to have a cell phone for each of the middle kids. The little ones stay by your side (and have name bands with parent's cell phone numbers for when they get lost) and the big kids you find by sending a text! But, no, we didn't get the middle kids cell phones. We just set up meeting places and times. It worked well. Nobody got lost.

When there are so many people, lots of things go on in addition to the service schedule. For example, 2 couples got engaged, 4 babies were born during the weekend, and 3 kids ended up with broken arms while on the playground.

There were lots of people, but it was really nice to be there.

By the way, if anyone wants to see more pictures from services, go to www.laestadianlutheran.org and follow the links to the 2008 summer service photos.
