Just wanted to send a little note to everyone. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday!
This past week, Shawn and I were able to go to the 'cities. I, of course, for a meeting. We were able to meet with Amber, Ryan, and little Nolan. It was so much fun to see them again. Really makes me want to move to Alaska. Wednesday, I had 2 meetings in St. Paul, but Wayne Skoog came to pick up Shawn and they hung out for the day. After the meetings, I went out there to pick him up. If I ever thought of moving back to the 'cities, I'd just have to do that again and reality would convince me that traffic is not fun. Wayne was really nice and had dinner cooking for when I got there. We enjoyed a nice visit with them. Stayed too late and got home too late, but it was fun.
This weekend, we plan to do some Christmas caroling and then a 40th b-day party for Randy. Not sure who all is going to come over for that tomorrow night. Sunday, Shawn and I may head to Brainerd for the Sunday School program there and do some computer things for Isa.
Hope everyone's holiday preparations are going well. All of you are invited to come and spend Christmas day with us, if you would like. The more the merrier, just let me know, so I know how many potatoes to peel.

I also hope everyone's Christmas
preparations are coming along fine.
Isä flew to Boston this morning.
They had so much snow so no one
could come pick him up. Instead he
took a bus to Barnstable, on the
Cape, and Paul Sorvo is picking him
up from there. Reported 5-6 inches
of snow but melting fast. Conn. is
supposed to get lots of snow so
hopefully he'll be able to fly home
on Sunday evening from Hartford.
The Sunday School Christmas program
is at 3 p.m. so if anyone can make
it, come on to Brainerd. They serve a meal after the program. dk
Heather, I'll be at your house! ~jen~
what did isa go to boston for? speaking trip? How was randy's 40 birthday heather? and how was the sunday school program? Our program was this last sunday too. The girls couldn't wait for it and were so excited all week! Frans is working on the video from it now, and I can't wait to watch it:)
I am pretty much done with my christmas shopping, maybe just one or two more things to get...and I am hoping to do some cookie baking today with the girls.. Maybe I will bake the cookies this morning, then after the girls get home from school they can decorate them. I'm making sugar cookies, ginger snaps (frans favorite) and those cookies with the hershey kiss on top. I'm not much of a baker, so no prune tarts, etc for me! Wish anita was still here, she would have the prune tarts:)
Hope everyone else's christmas preparations are coming along! I love this time of year!

Yes, he flew out on Friday morning
to Boston. Then services were at
Paul and Alice Sorvos on the Cape.
Next to Stones in Mattapisett, MA.
The to Ahos in Shelton, CT, and
Kiviniemi's in Bethel, CT. Was to
fly home from Hartford, CT. Snow.
Was to leave at 5:30 and arrive in
Mpls. in time to get last flight to
Brainerd at 9 .m. Didn't happen.
Got to Mpls. after midnight. I had
already made reservations for him on the first flight out on Monday.
NWA gave a voucher for a night at
Holiday Inn Express (slept 3 hrs.).
Am glad he made it back in time as
invited Manor residents to join us
in our apt. from 2-4 for Finnish
pulla and coffee. Heather had
brought squeaky cheese so had that,
choc. coffee muffins and Reino's
fudge. The muffins are really good
so will put recipe in Newsletter.
AX and AK packages got mailed
yesterday, Priority Mail, so
should arrive this week. Let me
know when they arrive. Contents
aren't that great but something to
open! dk
Should have proof read message! dk
Haven't done any shopping for the folks who reside with me. They aren't buying my line that I spent so much getting up here ... that should be gift enough. :) Still have a few days and the closer it gets ... the shorter the lists get!
Saturday I aim to bake all day. Pulla and cookies with Christmas music rolling through the house and hot cocoa warming me up. Hope my shopping is done before then.
Happy preparations to everyone!
