Eric & Rosella
Here they are, Seattle bound... Off to visit her family and work on wedding plans. Getting them to the airport for 5 a.m. was a bit early for this night owl, but I didn't have to fight traffic. There wasn't enough light at that time of the morning to get any decent pictures, but it was the first opportunity to try get pictures to share with all of you. Eric has a pretty cool one from Jay Cooke the day they got engaged. It is a silhouette of Rosie's face with her hand and ring visible and the water and rocks in the background. Hopefully he will post it here when they get back :-) They have picked Friday, August 31st as their big day. Tentatively they are planning to get married in her parent's back yard (a gorgeous and immaculate yard) with a reception at the church in Seattle. We will have a reception here also (possibly September 16th) since we know many won't be able to make it out there. Most details are still in the planning stages, other than that Nolan is Eric's best man and her sister Becky is her maid of honor. They won't be having any other attendants. She likes a deep red, but doesn't know yet if that is realistic for that time of year. One of the many details they hope to get taken care of while in Seattle. I am pumped to hear some of you are hoping to get there!!! We won't be able to make a lengthy trip, but plan to drive and be gone about a week. Michelle is flying, going ahead to spend some time with Justin and his family, and then landing here with just enough time to get a few winks of sleep before school starts. The rest of us will likely be piled in the rig with our trailer in tow. Would love to meet up with anyone that is driving for a night of camping somewhere if schedules/plans coincide. ....When Wayne gets back in town, we will spend some time with a calendar in one hand and a map in the other. He has been in Eugene Oregon for a couple weeks, making it tough to do so far. By the way, while there, he was able to go to Longview for the weekend. He was able to attend Justin's graduation, making Michelle quite envious. He also got a taste of Phil J's bread and pizza made in his hearth oven and will probably be stacking bricks to make one when he gets home. He has wanted to build one for some time. I could hear the drool as he was describing Phil's baking. ...Ok, enough rambling. -b

Who, may I ask, is this Justin of which you speak???!
Thanks for the update becky! Hopefully Rosie can get a lot planned while they are out west. How long are they there for?
I am still trying to plan my trip up there. So far, it looks like I am going to go straight to cokato when I get in on Wednesday night to spend the night with my sister in law Erica at her sister Jaclyn's. Then on Thursday I am going to spend the morning/afternoon with Rhonda (Simonson) Niska, then that night go to the Grooms dinner and rehearsal. Then on Friday morning, I think it's the bridal breakfast and wedding stuff. Saturday Curtis's wedding is at 4, and I don't have any plans after that! It is going to be busy! But sunday I am hoping to go to church in Elk River, and then I'll have Sunday afternoon and monday to do whatever.
well, it's late, and I better call it a day! Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

I hope Michelle uses her return trip ticket!!!
I'm hoping to make it to the wedding. Now that I know the date, will start to investigate tickets. Shawn isn't going to be able to come, but I can come for the weekend. I realize that it is hard to know details of what needs to be done, etc, but was thinking of getting there a day early in case they need any assistance. How long are people planning on staying out there? I don't know anyone or the area, so am hoping to find a motel somewhere near where we would need to be. Any suggestions?
Heather
Heather, there are a few hotels in Monroe that are near where you need to be, although I can't remember the names of them! There is like a holiday inn or something that is pretty big. Rosie would know what it is. Or in Snohomish there are hotels too.

I love this Blog! dk
Heather, I am so pumped that you might be able to go. Talked to Liz the other day, and it sounds like she is hoping to drive. I am thrilled!
I don't know yet where we are staying either. It would be nice to park the trailer in someone's yard, but it might be too much for Rosie's family with planning and all. Probably most of Wayne's family that can go would stay at Blaine and Trisha's, so don't know if that would work either. Maybe some of her siblings will be staying at Joel and Shelly's. I guess there is a campground a few miles away that might be an option too. We will figure all that out later.
If I can get someone to cover for me at the hospital, we can leave early Sunday morning. If not, it will be Monday morning. Then we have to be back by 2pm the next Monday. That doesn't give much time for driving with trailer in tow, but should be enough to get us there and back.
You can ask Michelle about Justin :-) He is the same age; went to college during high school like Michelle; has plans to study engineering in Washington... He is the oldest of Eric and Kim's kids. Seems like a really nice guy. We will get to know him better when he comes in July :-)
A weddimg update: the wedding will not be in Martin's back yard, but don't anything definate yet.

Heather talk to grandma and grandpa about where they are staying. also Jenny if you don't know anything about this justin, ask michelle or my dad who was able to meet him, he was VERY surprised to find michelle's dad at his high school graduation and be introduced to him in front of his parents. any way i have to run -debbie
A little update. My previous "is in the backyard" then "is not in the backyard" were premature. They are now back from Seattle with some details in place. They have gotten a backyard wedding worked out. Her dress and the maid of honor's dress have been purchased. We got to see pictures of the maid of honor's dress, but she isn't planning to share pictures of hers... She loves roses, so that will be the flower of the day. Deep red is her favorite. Stay tuned for more details as they are determined. -b
