Memorial day weekend

We had a busy weekend around here....We went camping up near Flagstaff with about 8 other families, and the youth from our church, and it was a lot of fun. There were about 120 or so people there, so lots of visiting:) The girls had an absolute ball...we didn't go camping once last summer, so they were pretty excited to go! Lots of playing, laughing, and junk food! We got back Sunday night around 5 or so to beat the monday memorial day traffic, and just lazed around for the evening swimming and reading. Monday morning was spent doing the same (nothing) then in the afternoon Jari & Anita, Anna & Tia came over...the girls spent the afternoon swimming, and us adults got a few games of settlers in.

After Jari & Anita left, we decided to go visiting at Andy & Deb Forstie's....all was well until our drive home. Our van has acted up a few times in the last month with me driving, and last night it decided to conk out! I'm just thankful that it was when Frans was with us, instead of just me with all the kids! So it is sitting on Cave creek and the 101 at a gas station. As soon as the kids all get up we are going to tow it to the shop. Frustrating!! I am just praying that it is nothing major! I had a feeling something would happen, I drove it last on Friday, and it sputtered and almost died on me when I was almost home, so I told Frans that maybe we should stay home from camping....but of course he took it for a spin, and nothing happened with him driving! Anyways....minus our van problems, the weekend was fun, and I am anxiously waiting to hear what you others did...did you camp? laze around and do nothing? Get some home projects done? Whatever you all did, hope you enjoyed the long weekend!

WOW - your girls are so cute!!!! My weekend was quite fun! Took my time getting to the Range, stopping at many garage sales in Cloquet. Spent Saturday and Sunday at Heather and Shawn's and then came back to scrub walls at the shop on Monday. Heather and/or Becky can say about the fun filled weekend that we were able to have there.

The weekend was busy at times, relaxing at others. Overall a wonderful holiday weekend.

Friday night: got some yard work done after work, etc. Becky, Wayne, Denise, and Brian on down came up with their camper.

Saturday: chores. I actually wasn't sure what to do, Debbie, Denise and John all took turns mowing the lawn; Brian tilled the garden; Wayne did some other chores etc. We all played with the goats, the dogs, checked out the horses, cows, and chickens. Shawn went to the Zim Cemetary with some of his brothers to work over there. Jen arrived. Becky, Wayne, and some of the family went to the Tower Soudan Underground Mine. Denise, Jen, and I went to run some errands. Stopped by the greenhouse to buy some plants and seeds. Then, we worked on the flower beds for a while, then Shawn, Denise, and I planted the garden =) Saturday night: BBQ (all the above mentioned + Liz, Gary, Laurie, and Tristan, Mom and Isa)I think Dan, Maurie, and Randy came later.

Sunday: church, riding the 4-wheeler, b-day party for both Glen and Maureen. The others went elsewhere while Shawn and I were at the b-day party. Then home: visiting; ice cream, root beer floats, etc. Jen left in the evening. Dan, Mauri, Randy, Gary, Tristan, and Laurie all came over at some point.

Monday: went on a bike ride with Liz and Kate. We biked 22 miles. Stopped at A&W in Aurora for lunch. It was a lot of fun. Then, home to do some more chores. Shawn planted some trees and then just normal everyday stuff. Oh yeah: brought the flowers to the cemetary.

It was a lot of fun. The 4-wheeling created some mud, but the kids seemed to love it. Hope it all came out of the clothes.
