Memorial Day weekend on the Range

We had an awesome Memorial Day weekend. Heather pretty much covered what we did. Here is the evidence :) Kathryn turned three on Saturday, so we had Dairy Queen cake to celebrate in the evening. Heather thrilled the kids with 4-wheeler rides.

The Wellstone Memorial is tucked in the serene north woods; very condusive to contemplation.

At the Wellstone Memorial, Brian investigated the crash scene info. Later, we met Liz at Ely Lake. She has been instrumental in improvements made there as she is on the Park Board. It would be a great place for us to gather for a couple days of family camping!

I share Jenny's thoughts. You are more than welcome over here for chores. Sweatshirts, green grass and trees look fantabulous!

Enjoyed reading the Blog. I just
comment: Sat. we went to Babbitt
for Alina Jacobson's graduation
open house. Those we knew: both sets of her grandparents - Josie and her husband Tom Ward and Naomi - Chuck and Jon Sarkela brought Elsie. Other young people
at that time that we didn't know.
Alina, aka Liddy, paints and sews
her own clothes.

Stopped at Heather and Shawns for
a bbq. When we were there only
Randalls, Liz and Jen were there.
Listening to MPR en route, they
kept breaking in with news reports
re. hail, possibly tornadoes, etc.
but we didn't experience any of
that. They even listed Cherry in
the weather warning.

Sunday we went to Farmington to
Kendra's 70th birthday. Didn't
know very many there either! Isä
would probably like to make a bean
bag horseshoe! Enjoyed playing it.

My old age is showing! Sorry, I
didn't mean to leave out Laurie and
Tristan, they were also at Heather
and Shawns. In fact, Tristan says
"Grandpa". dk

What a wonderful weekend! those that weren't there missed out on a wonderful time; although it looks like frans & jenny had a good time camping, very cute pictures. What did everyone else do?
does anyone remember going to tower soudan mine? that is something you HAVE to do if you haven't already. we had a wonderful tour guide. laura counted 27 bats, thats one thing that i could go without although i only saw 1, i wasn't to interested in looking a whole lot! i have to say that dropping down near a 1/2 mile in 1 n 1/2 minutes is not that good on your ears, unless you like them popping a lot. have a good day all -debbie
