for whom the bell tolls...

Dan Warwas died. That's about all i know. I'll let you know when i know more. And i'll pick up flowers from all of us (and send you the bill).

Also a great obit in the paper for Lydia Zupan:

from John Donne: "No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main... any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

Thank you for getting the flowers. Another option would be a tree or a garden ?ornament? with flowers or plant. Let me know how much to send.

I remember meeting Merry and Danny for the first time. I went with mother to meet the new neighbors. Larry had bought the place and was engaged to Joyce. The young Dan & Merry were living with Larry. I can picture him mixing bread with Merry, sewing at his machine next to Merry who was sewing at hers, sorting Coop food in their kitchen, tending the goats warming by the wood stove... He always had such a warm smile. He and Merry have a spot in my heart that grew over the many years we connected across the creek.

I am hoping to make a quick trip there Tuesday. If anyone is interested in riding along, let me know. I won't be able to stay for coffee etc due to K open house that evening.

After trying many times, I finally got on the MDN site to view Lydia's obituary. Wish someone could say that I had a "slim figure" when I die. Someone in that family has had a creative writing class or two. Thanks for the link.
