Perhaps you all got this in your newsletter, but i wanted to post it here for posterity - it's a beautifully written article and i adore the line about Tristan and i love that somebody appreciated our silly skit. Mom and Isa scanned the article from the Finnish American Reporter - and i'm not sure if you'll be able to read it, but we'll give it a try. -e.

What a wonderful picture. It is not legible, but heard from Mom about Tristan even being noted in the article. Who would have thought that a skit would make the news??

did you try to click on the article to make it bigger? we did so here and were able to read it.
Finnish American Reporter is not the only paper it made it into! It
was also in another paper that was in Lee Square for awhile but in checking now it is gone. dk
This is embarrassing. I'm not sure that I want to continue to make a fool out of myself when it becomes more public. Wow, to think that I agreed to do this as most of the people are "older" and that I wouldn't have to be too mortified and now, it makes not only 1 paper, but 2. UGH!!!
The positive side: more publicity for the Eveleth Ladies of Kaleva. Maybe the more people we get, the more money we get, and the less pasties and squeaky cheese we would have to make? Wishful thinking. Elizabeth does a wonderful job of creating skits and lucky us, we have to do another one in September.

I did click on the picture. I can read the names underneath but not the article. Thank goodness the names are legible ... at least I know where you are in there! In case you need some more exposure Heather, we could just crop you out and post you alone on the blog or some other newsworthy site. Grocery store bulletin board? I just had a terrific idea!! Make a poster of the photo and advertise the next skit. Charge the cost of 1 squeaky cheese just to get in and see the troupe!
And don't try to kid anyone about making a food of yourself in public. I remember shopping at Walmart with you & Jari.
OK, can't figure out how to edit comments at the moment. I meant fool, not food. Must be time for breakfast.
Anita - if you click on the article, it'll get a little bigger; then drag the cursor over it and a little box with arrows will pop up in the corner allowing you to make it bigger yet, and then you'll be able to read it. i promise. -e.
I have no further comment about the picture, the article, the skit, etc (Thanks a lot Anita). =). Okay, I'm being computer savy. I clicked on the picture then, it comes up small (larger than on the blog) so a little square thing pops up and when you click on it, voila, you can read it. It is a nice article. Does anyone know the lady that wrote it? I think I met her. She was living in Florida and her house was ruined so she was back in MN. Anyone else know her?
Yes, I know her. She is Ron Sikkila's sister (as Ron from Cherry Greenhouse). A year ago her
husband brought those tiny cups
with viili starter to Kaleva. dk
i've still got one of those viili starters in my fridge - i'm expecting it to crawl itself out of there any day. -e.
All right! I read the article! That is so cool that little orange box thing. Kind of never knew what is was really there for. Must be my learning for the day.
