Sarkela cousins at Linda Hermanson funeral on Monday

Thanks for posting the picture! Some I recognized and some I did not. Was able to visit with Velma on Sunday afternoon before heading home. She had this feeling that she wanted to see Linda that day (July 4th), so she called Ken (who was on the range for the weekend and asked if he would wanted to go with her and so they went. She is very glad that she was able to see her one last time, though Linda didn't remember who she was. Also heard that she was able to make it to see Karen Mayry in the hospital and was able to get Jerry to smile for a minute. Irene is the one who lives in Holland correct? Heard that she planned on her regular summer visit and heads back sometime this week, if I remember right. But that she was able to visit with Linda and be able to go to the funeral without needing to reschedule a flight. And Velma was full of stories about John and his siblings. Was fun to hear stories of people that I knew when I was little, or have heard Mom and Isa talk about. "its all about family" as Velma puts it! Heard that Elsie is doing pretty good still at the nursing home. And this is the first time that Velma talked openly about her dad. Fun to hear of things they did together and whatnot.
That's what I learned in the couple hours of visiting this past Sunday. ~jen~
