Don't know where everyone has gone ...

I figure if I keep bombarding you all with pictures ... maybe we'll see some more from all corners of our family alphabet soup!

Fall is here and absolutely gorgeous! The mountains all around us are covered with snow this week. Unbelievable isn't it? I couldn't exactly stand in one place and spin the camera around in circles ... I had to drive a couple of miles up and down the same road ... and finally land at the mailboxes. This one is to the south ...

This one just because.

To the east.
The north ... I'm going to visit some of the north ones tomorrow ... just a tad bit to the left. (Look for more pictures!)

From the top of the hill at our mailboxes!

Happy Fall!

I echo the comments Brian made when he saw these pictures: "She has quite the eye for photography. If I didn't know better, I would think they came out of a magazine." Yes, beautiful pictures! It would be great to be there in person some day to see first hand what you experience daily. Brian and Valerie and family sure enjoyed their time in Alaska.

We have had perfect weather here this September. While we had a cool summer, fall has been unseasonably warm. While on campus, i have been able to sit outside and read/study each day. The leaves are just starting to turn yellow here. No big colors yet.

Wish we could have talked longer today. Will have to try again.

Becky, I don't think you have said
anything on this Blog about going to school. Perhaps you should comment on that phase of your life.

Also, I've been waiting for Debbie to post John's pictures. She said her pictures didn't show it as it
really was but her pictures are better than none and then can say
what happened to him. Granted you
don't know for sure what caused it
but tell about it anyway. dk

Yeah, I just heard you were going to school becky...what are you going for? are you enjoying it so far? what happened to john?
anita, as usual, your pics are great! They really make me wish we had 4 seasons here!
not much exciting going on here...but am sure busy! Frans just ended his elk hunt...with no luck:( Kierstyn got to go with him on the last day and a half of the hunt, and boy was she fired up! she looked forward to it for so long! Frans may not have his boy yet, but he has Kierstyn...and that is good enough! She did end up getting sick up there tho, so that was a bummer...but they still had fun, and she will never forget that hunting trip with dad!
my sister's tenth baby shower is tuesday night, and I am using jen's idea and am going to try to create a diaper cake...can't wait to see how it turns out!
taryn is growing like a weed...can't believe how fast time is going! wish I could stop the clock sometimes! She must be starting to teeth, because she always has her fingers in her mouth, and is drooling a lot!
anyways...i am on Facebook a lot, and find that I am pretty neglectful of the family blogs...will try to get on here and comment/update more!

Anita, great pictures. Our leaves are starting to change, but with the weird weather, I'm afraid the leaves will be off the trees before they turn beautiful!
Shawn, Heidi, and I went to Michigan over the weekend for Parent's Camp. It was a lot of fun and now we have a long list of houses we are supposed to go visiting. Not sure how we make it to them all, but we'll try!
I echo Jenny's comment... I'm on facebook a lot so have been neglectful of the blog and there's rarely updates on here, so I sort of quick looking. I will try to focus on it more. I do love to see the pictures :)
Becky, waiting to hear what you are going to school for... and to hear about what happened to John.

Well, the pictures and story of John's little episode are posted. Thanks Debbie!

School has always been in my dreams. When I got laid off, many suggested that this might be my opportunity to go back to school. Things seemed to fall into place pretty well...

Kathryn started school and goes Tuesdays and Thursdays. My classes worked out on those two days. (I work on Mondays and some Wednesdays.) My school days run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but I can get most of my studying done while gone from home that way. Steven is doing on-line school this year, so he can get the last kids out the door and is here when they get home. Denise and Michelle each are scheduled to take one of those nights to make supper since it can't wait til I get home.

What am I studying? My short term goal is to complete my BS in Health and Wellness with focus areas in the life sciences and leadership. This semester I am taking 4 classes: Nutrition, Kinesiology, Applied Medical Terminology, and an Intro to Adult Education (a philosophy course). So far, things are going ok. Got an A on both of the exams I have taken so far. I am a bit worried tho as the pace is picking up... When I say short term, it is probably misleading as "short" might take 2 - 3 years. My aim is to do well THIS semester!

Work seems to be going ok too. I miss the hospital a ton and miss the challenge my job provided. Now when I am in school, it is probably ok to have a job that is a little more routine. I teach, so there isn't a lot of variety. Most importantly, it is a job within the same organization so I have my seniority. It doesn't hurt that the pay is better, especially since I am not working as much. Working less is ok too with Wayne being gone so much and with school. We just have to really watch where our money is going.

We have been blessed in many ways!
