MORE Q & A

Elizabeth, you're going to Hawaii? Get a sunburn for me will you? Frans and Jenny, how are you and chitlens doing? How's school? Love the pictures that you post by the way, even if they sometimes confuse me. Lauri, how are you doing? How's Tristan? Sometime soon I hope that we can take some time off from remodeling and come up there to see you all, hopefully before T graduates anyway. Heather, how's motherhood? Can't wait to see the little bundle even if Charlie doesn't think she's cute! Ivan, how's the remodeling project going? Oh, wait a minute, that's me. Jen, how's decorating going? Liking the new pad? Ta ta for now. #9

Yes, #9, how is the remodeling
project going? Wish we could get
there to take a few pictures.

I know Gary doesn't go on the Blog
but thought I'd mention that he has
put in a well, 60 some feet. So no
more hauling water from Laurie's to
water horses or whatever else you do with water!

Remodeling is going slowly but surely(perhaps more slowly than surely), but nonetheless, it's coming along nicely. There are some things that I would like to take care of but are too daunting both physically and monetarily so they probably won't get done at least any time soon. We've been dodging snow storms to try and get the yard cleaned up so at least from the outside it'll look good. Almost done with that, then there will be no more excuses and I'll have to get going inside again. Missi put her foot down and said not another winter without insulation, so I guess I'd better get that in at least! The second floor is insulated and poly is up waiting on insulation inspection before sheetrock. First floor has a little bit of framing stuff to take care of before finnishing the insulation, then poly, then inspection, then start sheetrock in the kitchen. Some time before that happens I'm going to tear up the subfloor in the kitchen/dining room and replace it with plywood. Currently has the old tongue and groove boards, which would be fine except they are so uneven and rough that laying hard wood floors over it would be next to impossible, also way too squeeky for my liking. After the sheetrock comes mud and sanding(Yayyy!), but after that comes paint which will be real nice and then trim and building kitchen cabinets and all. That part should be fun. I plan on doing the sheetrock room by room rather than the whole house in one shot, partly to contain mess and partly because taping and mudding the whole house in one shot would really be a bugger! Outside, we tore out part of the chain link fence that seperated the back of the garage from the rest of the back yard, nearly doubling the size of the yard! Eventually, I'll take out the rest of the chain link and put up a wood privacy fence in it's place around the entire back yard but as you all know that will cost a small fortune, so that will have to wait a while. Looking forward to planting some grass and trying to get it to grow! Wish us luck on that one! Gotta run, more updates to follow. #9

#9, Thanks for posting about your
huge project. Asked Laurie to
relate what has happened regarding
her property and she said she would. Some of you know about it
but not everyone. You'll be
surprised. dk

Hi everyone! Had a nice chat with Laurie on the phone last night! She wanted me to apologize to everyone for not getting on here to answer Ivan's question! As soon as she has a few minutes she will try to answer it and put post pictures of T for all of us!

As for me, well. . . Very much enjoying my extra space and am crafting almost every evening. Besides that not to much exciting news to report!

Ivan, it would be fun to come and see your house. One of these days we will be able to get away from here!!! Motherhood is going well. I go back to work next week and Miss Heidi will be going off to daycare. She is doing great and growing like crazy. It is amazing how life changes after baby. Tonight, we were burning grass and I really wanted to be out there with Shawn. Burning was one of my favorite childhood memories. I just love setting fires, I guess. Anyway, Laurie and Tristan came to babysit so I could be outside. It's all good though, :)
