ditto. happy to hear you're home! if it wasn't for those mangled ribs maybe stabbing me, i'd cruise over to give you a big hug. i'll never complain about that thick skull of yours again - turned out to be quite a wonderful thing.

I hear he wasn't sure if we were
at the hospital on Friday. We'll
make a trip that way on Tuesday.
I plan on bringing sloppy joes and
cheesecake. First stop is Ivan's at noon. He already knows. Next
to Charlies. Will leave some sloppy joe mixture and cheesecake
for when the kids come home if we
aren't still there. Will go to
Jen's next. Have to call Davids and see if they'll be home for our
last stop. Wow, Mpls. on Friday
and Saturday and again on Tues.! dk

Am so glad we went on Tuesday.
Makes us feel better that he looks
so much better tho' not without
pain. Gets stiff and sore from sitting and painful to get up but
walking looked good, conversation
was good (made sense!) I think he
remembers this time that we were
there!! dk

Hey Y'all!

I got off the phone with Anita a while ago... And after that, I made Machelle go through (again) her 'schedule of events'. Apparently, she has told them to me several times... and I'm thinking that one of these times I'll remember!

But, just to keep this short and sweet... I'm definetly getting better and better. My walking speed is changing from a shuffling gate, walking across the house... to a half-a-stride. Small changes, but getting better just the same. Walking is just one example of the things that are getting better... its everything.

The memory of the last week is pretty fuzzy, I'm guessing that the majority of it I won't get back, but hopefully I'll be less and less concerened about my current physical condition, so that current events start sticking better and better. (yikes, saying it like that makes it sound like I'm a basket case... I mean, I've always known it, just never admitted it!)

But to make a long story short, I"m getting better, and I seriously doubt there will be any lasting effects of my crash :-)

Glad to hear it. Keep taking it easy and don't overdo it. I know you're jumping at the bit to get back to work and all, but be smart about it and you'll recover faster. #9

When Pauline Lahti had open heart
surgery she wasn't to lift her arms any higher than her head. Someone with that type of surgery
went home and helped his wife paint
walls; ribs have been making noise
ever since! Someone in Phoenix had
a hip replacement and went back to
climbing ladders WAY TOO SOON to
estimate roofs and he's still in pain. Two examples that patience
would be better to help yourself
heal properly. dk

Was good to hear your voice again last evening and to know that recovery is continuing. Take each moment and be thankful for it; We never know when or how life will change.
