New York City

Not sure why Ms. Liberty insists on laying down in this picture - please be assured she's standing tall and proud in New York's harbor.

I was in NYC last week to hobnob with the rich and famous and a $25,000/table event (i got in for free, but did don a sparkly new shirt for the occassion) - i was there to get some money for some political training i want to do up here for women interested in running for local office.

While there i got in a bit of site-seeing, including Ellis Island (which is this other picture).

Abbu the cat wanted me to post his pic as well.

Fancy schmancy house you've got there Anita. I love the announcer's voice in the virtual tour - i want to learn to talk like that.

Did you come away with a lot of wonderful and exciting things?
I would love to see Lady Liberty ... sideways or straight up .. have never been to New York other than the airport. Jari isn't interested in doing that and he has the next 2 years' for the 2 of us already planned/thought out. Mayhaps I should meet you in New York sometime and you can show me around.
The house pics. Do you want to know how that is done? You clean one room .. take photo. Clean next room .. take photo. By the time 2nd photo is taken, room #1 doesn't resemble the photo anymore. Ugh. Am mentally already redoing the next house that I don't even own.
Must get Brock motivated. This is going to be a looooong school day for him and I.
Hi to Abbu!

Was it difficult getting around in
New York? I guess once you've
navigated the subway system in D.C. any system would be o.k. Pa
did say that you just zip past the
signs so you have to know what you
are looking for and when! dk

The DC subway system makes a LOT more sense and is much smaller and easier to figure out. We were constantly going the wrong way - by the end, i think i finally understood what was going on, so let me know before you go and i'll give you tips. -e.

I would love to hear more details about your experience; fun to see the pictures! Where is a picture of you in the new garb?

We were at Bob & Rebecca's last night, as were Darren & Melissa. Rebecca and Melissa were asking about you and exclaiming how much they learned in DC because of you. They were grateful for your tour guiding.
