The new floor...

Mom is at work today but wanted these pictures put on of redoing our floors.

all of the stuff is in the living room, no where to walk! like mom said, it doesn't seem like you have a lot, until you start moving it, the stove and refrigerator are in the garage. the picture above was taken after sanding but before the staining, i wish that we left it that color and clear coated it but others didn't.
you can see how much they changed by looking at the table, there isn't a huge contrast between the two now. The main entry way floors.
family on Easter. the girls!

The floors look absolutely gorgeous. I know you told me, Becky, that they didn't do the stairs. Any special reason they didn't? New floors almost make it a pleasure to spin the mop around them ... and ever so irritated when they aren't clean.

they are nice to have done but we don't get to mop them yet. we aren't even supposed to walk on them very much for 30 days! we couldn't walk on it hardly at all for a week. i am probaly more glad that they are done:) -debbie

We both think they look nice. We
just saw pics on the camera of the
floors sanded, not with the finish.
It really looks good with the parts
that didn't get touched. dk & rk

Nice pictures. The floors look great. I also love the family picture. It looks very Easter like. Fun to see.

I don't know if anyone else goes back through and reads comments on old posts, but will add a bit here. We get to go through the joy of having the floors done a second time... There are sanding swirls in the floor that bother me. Had we done it ourselves, I would live with it, but we paid for the pros to do it. It looks great from a distance, but when you get up close, especially in the dining room, it keeps bugging me. I had a co-owner of the company that did them come out and take a look. She agreed that it isn't how they would like them to be. So, May 21, we begin the fun again. This time, the kids will be in school and the weather should be warmer. The combination should make the re-do possible without loss of my sanity. It came close last time. My fridge is still in the garage. I guess we are going to leave it there until they are done. ...Just a little more excerise to get anything to eat. Think of the bright side, right?!

We are trying to get a couple other things done as well. The windows on the old part of the house are getting replaced in early May. Then we need to replace the siding on at least the north side of the house.

Outside, I am hoping we can clean up the rock areas around the pool and under the deck. They have gotten pretty uneven and are always full of weeds. The boys started pulling the rock out. I am hoping we can level it and put down a good weed barrier, and then put the rock back. My final outside dream project for this spring is to start a brick patio outside the patio doors. If I can come up with a design that lets us start small, it might work. I would be really nice to be able to use that patio door and the area right outside it, especially when we have bonfires, etc.

Wayne has been gone all week every week for the last several and it doesn't look like that is changing anytime soon, so it will be up to the kids and I :-)
